Thanks so much i will call housing first thing monday. I know it might not seem like a huge thing but its an electrical plug that we didn't know didn't work when we moved in and its right next to where the phone and internet plug in. So I have an extension cord attached to a multi plug running across my living/dining room so that i can plug in my phone and router. There are only 2 plugs in the entire living/dining so the extension cord is my only option and its right threw the middle so its completely unavoidable and I worry about it being a fire hazard. I like our landlord but he just is failing when it comes to this issue. he won't even respond to my emails or calls anymore.

I would try going through housing to get things fixed, to have it on record at least, and you can file a complaint so the next potential tenant is warned. If your LL agrees to let you break your lease, housing won't stop you, we did it once.

I am having issues getting my landlord to fix things in our apartment. I have emailed him a ton of times because he prefers that form of communication and he has fixed some small things but not the big things. I am wanting to just move but our lease is up what do I do? If we reach an agreement can housing say no? I am completely lost and need some advice from someone who might know anything!!

Yeah, everything is an ordeal w/o your sponsor... Be sure to get a special power of attorney b/c there are a lot of things that a full power of attorney won't let you do here(like register a car or deal with some banking stuff). The legal office should know what is needed.

thank you everyone! I found it!!!! FYI for anyone else in this situation my husband would have had to mail me a power of attorney from his current location then his first sargeant would have to have wrote me a letter saying my husband was TDY just for them to meet with me to start the process of getting an id. I need to get my stuff organized with Power of Attorney before he leaves again.

You should not have a problem getting on base without it if they can look you up in the system by your social(using the little things they scan ID cards with). I am not sure what the procedure is if you are not in that system yet though.

I believe you have to report it missing at the SF building. I've gotten on base before using my license but it probably depends on who's working the gate.

I just got here and tonight I lost my military ID. I lost it in front of the community center in case anyone finds it. What is the process to get a new one? I know where to go, but can I just drive onto base without one? Also, do I need to report it lost before I get a new one, and does anyone know when they are open?

I'm sorry I just got this! The show we are now rehearsing had a role for a teenager. I will keep posting auditions on here. They may do a children's show in the future, however right now its all inclusive of all ages. The group is just getting started so it has its limitations. The two projects I'm hoping to see soon is a musical and Vagina Monologues. The issue is we are only seeing a limited amount of people interested in auditioning.

UPDATE: After minimal help from housing I got a hold of my landlord and he sent a "painter" to look at the problem. Now they are taking out the second door and reinsulating the closet. I actually dealt with my landlords brother thankfully and he was very understanding. So yes, my landlord is taking full responsibility for the problem and having it fixed within a week.

We are putting together a rendition of Vagina Monologues. It's ladies only and all proceeds will go to charity. It usually goes to victums of domestic violence, however we have not chosen a specific charity at this point in time. Or vinegar- works great, and no harmful fumes, especially around your small children, since you said you can't ventilate the area. Don't want to use a bunch of bleach in an unventilated area. You can try to find a dehumidifier, too. Not sure if they are sold on base or off, but I think some ppl on here have purchased them and could give you advice.

The same thing happened to me in Korea. I know its a different country, however my honest opinion is it's 100 percent the landlord's responsibility. I didn't have a house through housing at that point, and when my landlord tried to avoid doing it I stopped paying rent. He fixed the issue then. This is really serious especially with the kids. Good luck, and I would love to hear the outcome of your issue.
